The MammoVan Event - October 28, 2009
Working with University of New Mexico, the NM Department of Health and the NM Primary Care Association, ECFH hosted the first MammoVan pilot project. Using the Las Vegas medical clinic as a trial site, the goal was to determine if the MammoVan is brought to rural, unde3rserved areas, would women utilize the service. The event was a great success. Mammograms were given to 47 women, 9 women enrolled in the BCC (Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program) and 20 women scheduled follow-up appointments for full Well-Woman check ups.
