Semillas de Salud Program

Semillas de Salud is a program for you if you are interested in a career in health. That includes: doctors, mid-level providers such as Physician Assistants or Family Nurse Practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health providers such as LISW's, psychologists or psychiatrists, dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.

Just to meet the national average, New Mexico needs 880 providers and 4900 nurses. With the increase in primary care services provided by community health centers, these numbers will increase even more.

Semillas de Salud offers mentoring, in-clinic experiences (shadowing, preceptorships, and rotations) and education about health careers.

We provide quality health care to more than 17,000 individuals each year in over 70,000 medical and dental visits. El Centro accepts all payor sources including private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, VA and we offer discounted services to income eligible. We are part of the primary care safety net, ensuring that everyone has equal access to the medical care they deserve.
